Suzuki Master Class and JapanFest in Atlanta, GA
Student's of Graham's Suzuki Piano Studio attended a master class taught by Pamela Smith. Pamela studied the Suzuki Method at the Suzuki Institute in Matsumoto Japan under Dr. Hiroko Kataoka. She was an awesome encouragement to all of us......engaging, animated and full of energy! We have lots of excellent information she lovingly shared that will help us as we continue our studies!
After leaving the master class we attended the JapanFest at Gwinnet Center. Students are in the process or working on lapbook reports about Suzuki which will be presented at local libraries, and an upcoming event with the Augusta Music Teachers Association. Being that Suzuki was born in Japan, their trip to the JapanFest helped them understand more about his culture, and will be an addition to their reports. (39 photos)

Suzuki Piano Institute in Louisville, KY
Mariah and I had the joy of attending the Suzuki Piano Institute master classes, at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. I attended the masterclasses for teacher while Mariah attended her fun classes. The classes offered were piano, jazz improvisation, dalcroze, and chorus. At the close of the event, students performed in a chorus and piano recital. (44 photos)
Studio Fun!
Theory Putting
In the spirit of Augusta's Masters Golf Tournament, we decided to do a bit of indoor putting. On each of the golf balls, I drew notes, terms, and other theory concepts as a review of things learned. Parents joined in on the fun. Players were to pick a ball out of the cube. If the theory question was answered correctly, players were given 2 chances at putting. Each time a player sinks the ball, they receive 3 points. The player with the highest score wins! (21 photos)
